Job Description

Job Title: Sales Engineer – Genset (DG Sets)

The Sales Engineer is responsible for promoting and selling diesel generator (DG) sets and related solutions by providing technical support, identifying customer requirements, and delivering effective sales solutions. The role involves business development, client relationship management, and coordination with internal engineering and service teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for DG sets and power solutions
  • Understand customer power requirements and recommend suitable genset configurations
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals, BOQs, and quotations
  • Conduct site visits, load calculations, and feasibility assessments
  • Coordinate with design, production, and service teams for order execution
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with customers
  • Achieve assigned sales targets and revenue goals
  • Maintain strong relationships with consultants, EPC contractors, and end users
  • Track leads, sales activities, and customer data in CRM systems
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback
  • Support after-sales coordination during installation and commissioning

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical knowledge of DG sets, engines, alternators, and control panels
  • Understanding of power backup systems, AMF panels, and load management
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools
  • Customer-oriented and result-driven mindset

Qualifications

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 2–6 years of experience in sales of DG sets, power equipment, or industrial products
  • Experience in B2B, EPC, or project sales preferred

Working Conditions

  • Field-based role with frequent travel and site visits
  • Office support for proposal preparation and coordination

Preferred (Added Advantage)

  • Knowledge of CPCB emission norms and statutory requirements
  • Experience dealing with OEMs, dealers, and channel partners
  • Exposure to AMF panels, acoustic enclosures, and synchronization systems

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
