Job Description

Sales Engineer for Utility & C&I BESS will be responsible for driving sales and business development of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across the Utility and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) segments. The role involves identifying opportunities, engaging with EPCs, developers, DISCOMs, and end-users, and positioning the company’s BESS solutions for grid support, renewable integration etc.


Expected roles and responsibilities.


Business Development & Sales:

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new BESS project opportunities in Utility and C&I sectors.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve order and revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with IPPs, EPCs, developers, OEMs, consultants, and government agencies.
  • Lead technical-commercial discussions and support solution design with the engineering team.
  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations, techno-commercial proposals, and bids.
  • Engage with customers through all stages — from lead generation to closure and handover to execution.
  • Work closely with marketing to create awareness and visibility for BESS offerings.
  • Lead commercial negotiations ensuring alignment with company policies.
  • Review tender documents and identify commercial and technical risks.
  • Finalize contracts ensuring clarity on scope, delivery, warranty, and performance guarantee

Market Intelligence:

  • Track upcoming tenders, regulatory changes, and market trends in energy storage and hybrid systems.
  • Provide insights into competitor offerings, pricing benchmarks, and customer expectations.
  • Identify emerging segments such as renewable hybrid, microgrids, EV charging hubs, data centers, and railways to promote BESS


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering

3~5 years of experience in sales/business development of energy, renewable, or electrical infrastructure solutions.

  • Proven experience in selling Solar PV, BESS, hybrid power, or electrical EPC projects.
  • Strong network within utilities, IPPs, industrial customers, and EPCs.
  • Understanding of BESS components battery technologies, PCS, EMS, containerization, grid applications.

  • Familiarity with tendering processes, CEA/CERC guidelines, and DISCOM frameworks is desirable.
