Job Description

SUMMARY

Summary:

The Safety Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and compliance of operations within the Hemms Excavators, Earthmoving, Metals & Mining division at Mechanical Maintenance Company. Reporting from the Bokara, Jharkhand location, this position is essential for maintaining a safe work environment across high-risk activities such as Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) operations, earthmoving, and slag management. The ideal candidate will lead safety initiatives, enforce regulatory standards, and foster a proactive safety culture that aligns with company goals and industry best practices. This role requires a strategic mindset, hands-on experience in industrial safety, and a commitment to continuous improvement in operational safety performance.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures across all operational units.
Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Lead incident investigation and root cause analysis, ensuring timely corrective actions are taken.
Provide training and guidance to field teams on safety protocols, emergency response, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaborate with supervisors and managers to integrate safety into daily operations and project planning.
Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation for internal and regulatory review.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability across all levels of the organization.

Requirements

Requirements:

5 to 7 years of progressive experience in industrial safety, preferably in mining, metals, or earthmoving environments.
Diploma in Safety or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Strong knowledge of relevant safety regulations, including OSHA, local labor laws, and industry-specific standards.
Proven ability to lead safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and manage incident response.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using safety management tools and reporting systems.
