Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Safety / EHS Officer (5–7+ years) to oversee and enforce safety, health, and environmental practices at project sites. The role involves strict monitoring of PPE compliance, worker verification, safety inductions, and ensuring adherence to statutory safety regulations to prevent accidents and incidents.

Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Compliance

• Ensure mandatory PPE usage at all times:
• Safety shoes
• Safety helmet
• High-visibility safety jacket
• Full body harness for height work
• Monitor and control work-at-height activities, including proper use of harnesses, lifelines, and scaffolding.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and site audits.
• Implement, monitor, and enforce EHS policies, SOPs, and safety procedures.

Induction & Training

• Conduct compulsory safety induction for all employees, contract workers, and visitors before site entry.
• Deliver regular toolbox talks and safety awareness programs.
• Ensure all workers understand site safety rules, emergency response, and PPE usage.

Documentation & Statutory Compliance

• Verify Aadhaar cards to ensure:
• No worker below 18 years of age is deployed.
• Check and ensure ESIC compliance for applicable workers.
• Maintain and update:
• Safety induction records
• PPE issue registers
• Accident/incident and near-miss reports
• Statutory safety documentation

Incident Management

• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
• Prepare detailed incident investigation reports.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, contractors, and supervisors for safety enforcement.
• Liaise with clients, auditors, and statutory authorities during inspections and audits.
• Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly safety reports.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Safety / Industrial Safety / Fire & Safety (Mandatory)
• Additional certifications such as NEBOSH / IOSH will be an added advantage

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of construction/manufacturing EHS standards
• Expertise in work-at-height safety
• Hands-on experience with site audits and safety inspections
• Good communication and training skills
• Ability to handle contractors and enforce compliance

Mandatory Compliance

• Strict PPE enforcement
• Aadhaar verification (18+ workers only)
• ESIC compliance check
• Mandatory safety induction before work commencement.
