Job Title: Ruby on Rails Architect

Project Tenure: Long-term project

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and evolve the application architecture for RoR-based platforms.
• Lead technical design discussions and provide architectural oversight for major projects.
• Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Establish development standards, tools, and processes for the RoR ecosystem.
• Ensure performance optimization, scalability, security, and maintainability of the application.
• Collaborate with DevOps to streamline CI/CD processes.
• Guide the integration of third-party services, APIs, and legacy systems.
• Own architectural documentation and maintain architectural decision records.

Must-Have Skills:

• Expert-level proficiency in Ruby on Rails.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and best practices.
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end integration with RoR.
• Experience with RESTful API design and development.
• Hands-on knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of Git and version control workflows.
• Deep understanding of application security principles, authentication, and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, Devise).
• Proven experience in architecting scalable and distributed systems.
• Maximum usage of GenAI tools - Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor etc.

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with React.js, Vue.js, or other modern front-end frameworks.
• Knowledge of GraphQL and real-time features using WebSockets or Action Cable.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with background job processing frameworks (e.g., Sidekiq, Resque).
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.
• Experience with performance monitoring and logging tools (New Relic, Datadog, ELK).
• Contribution to open-source RoR libraries or active participation in the RoR community.
