Job Purpose:
To lead and drive regional sales operations in the General Trade (GT) channel by developing and executing robust sales and go-to-market strategies, optimizing the distribution network, and ensuring consistent revenue and market share growth in line with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement regional sales plans aligned with national business objectives.
- Analyze sales trends, identify growth opportunities, and drive initiatives to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Monitor KPIs, market share, and secondary sales data to ensure performance is on track.
- Conduct regular reviews with Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and Territory Sales Officers (TSOs) to ensure field execution.
Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy
- Customize GTM strategies to suit regional dynamics including rural vs urban retail mix.
- Optimize the beat plan, outlet coverage, and salesforce deployment for maximum market penetration.
- Lead and manage product launches, promotions, and trade initiatives at the regional level.
- Ensure pricing, placement, and promotion execution is consistent and effective.
General Trade Channel Management
- Drive the growth and efficiency of General Trade through deep market coverage and strong distributor partnerships.
- Identify and onboard new distributors and retail partners to expand the company's footprint.
- Conduct market visits to maintain strong relationships with key retailers and gather competitive intelligence.
Distribution Network Management
- Develop a strong and agile distribution network to ensure product availability, visibility, and reach.
- Optimize distributor ROI by driving volume growth, operational efficiency, and compliance.
- Ensure effective stock management, order fulfillment, and timely secondary sales reporting.
- Monitor and manage distributor performance through regular audits and reviews.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of ASMs, TSOs, and field force to achieve high performance.
- Implement training and capability-building programs to upskill the sales team.
- Foster a performance-driven culture and reward high performers.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Track competitor activities and provide strategic insights to the leadership team.
- Use data analytics and field intelligence to identify business opportunities and risks.
- Submit accurate reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market trends.

Qualifications:
- MBA/PGDM from Tier 1 / 2 B School
- Minimum 3 Years of work experience in FMCG company in General Trade Sales.
