Role Description

The Risk Management Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing risk management initiatives across the organization. This role ensures that risks—financial, operational, strategic, and compliance-related—are identified, assessed, monitored, and mitigated effectively. The Risk Management PM collaborates with cross-functional teams, senior management, and stakeholders to embed risk-aware practices into projects, processes, and decision-making, supporting the organization’s resilience and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead risk management projects from initiation through execution, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across projects, business units, and processes.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, controls, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers, compliance teams, and executives, to embed risk management practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments, scenario analyses, and impact evaluations to support decision-making.
  • Monitor and report on key risk indicators (KRIs), risk events, and mitigation progress to senior management.
  • Maintain risk registers, documentation, and compliance records to ensure transparency and audit readiness.
  • Facilitate risk workshops, training sessions, and awareness programs to promote a risk-aware culture.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, industry regulations, and best practices in risk management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance risk management processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Coordinate with internal audit, compliance, and legal teams as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in risk management, project management, or related areas.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience managing projects with a focus on risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in risk management software, project management tools, and reporting systems.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Risk Management Professional (RMP) are a plus.
  • Ability to foster a risk-aware culture and drive adherence to risk management best practices.
