Job Description

Role & responsibilities

A. Sales & Target Achievement

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets for the assigned region.
  • Ensure both primary (distributor-level) and secondary (retail-level) sales growth.
  • Monitor SKU-wise performance and ensure product availability across all channels.
  • Review and analyze sales performance regularly and take corrective actions.

B. Team Management

  • Lead and motivate Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and Sales Representatives (SRs).
  • Conduct regular market visits, joint calls, and team performance reviews.
  • Train the team on sales techniques, product knowledge, and merchandising standards.
  • Maintain a strong field discipline and ensure adherence to sales processes.

C. Distribution & Channel Development

  • Appoint and manage distributors, ensuring smooth supply and adequate stock levels.
  • Expand the retail network and improve outlet coverage and productivity.
  • Ensure efficient route planning and market penetration in urban and rural areas.

D. Trade Marketing & Promotions

  • Implement trade and consumer schemes effectively in coordination with marketing.
  • Ensure visibility of POS materials, brand displays, and promotional execution.
  • Monitor competitor activities and provide actionable market feedback.

E. Market Development

  • Identify potential markets and channels for business expansion.
  • Build strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key customers.
  • Represent the company in trade meets and dealer gatherings.

F. Reporting & Coordination

  • Submit daily/weekly sales reports and performance updates to ZSM.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, accounts, and marketing for smooth operations.
  • Ensure timely claim settlements, credit management, and distributor hygiene.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education:

    Graduate / MBA in Sales & Marketing preferred
  • Experience:

    8-12 years in FMCG / Personal Care / Perfume & Deodorant sales
  • Skills:

  • Strong people and distributor management skills
  • Strategic sales planning and execution capability
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Power BI, and reporting tools
