The healthcare receptionist acts as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing essential support within a medical setting. They are responsible for delivering a warm welcome and serving as the face of our healthcare facility. Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors with a friendly demeanor.
  • Register patients by obtaining personal and insurance information accurately.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage clinic appointment calendars.
  • Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate staff or departments efficiently.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and sensitive information strictly.
  • Inform patients of clinic policies and ensure compliance with procedural guidelines.
  • Process patient payments and assist with billing inquiries and insurance claims.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, doctors, and medical staff effectively.
  • Handle patient feedback, complaints, and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Order office supplies and ensure the reception area is well-maintained and organized.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
  • Provide support in emergencies by following established clinic procedures diligently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required for this position.
  • Previous experience as a receptionist or in customer service is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional appearance are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for this role.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with tact and professionalism is crucial.
  • Proficient in using computer systems, including word processors and scheduling software.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and billing processes is an advantage.
