Job Summary

The BOQ & Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate quantity take-offs, BOQs, rate analysis, and cost estimations for civil and interior projects. The role ensures cost-effective planning, budgeting, and tendering support for ongoing and upcoming projects.

Key Responsibilities1. Quantity Takeoff & BOQ Preparation

• Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) from architectural, structural, and interior drawings.
• Conduct accurate quantity takeoff (footing, slab, steel, masonry, plaster, painting, flooring, etc.).
• Prepare item-wise specifications and measurement sheets.

2. Cost Estimation

• Prepare detailed cost estimates including material, labour, machinery, subcontractors, and overheads.
• Develop and update rate analysis using CPWD/PWD/market rates.
• Compare vendor/contractor quotations and prepare comparison statements.

3. Tendering & Documentation

• Assist in preparation of tender documents, costing sheets, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with procurement for material pricing and vendor rates.
• Maintain updated rate sheets and estimation templates.

4. Project Coordination

• Coordinate with site engineers to verify quantities and actual consumption.
• Prepare cost variation and material reconciliation reports.
• Support project budgeting and financial planning.

5. Reporting & Data Management

• Prepare daily/weekly reports on BOQ status and estimation progress.
• Maintain project records, drawings, and estimation-related documentation.

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of Quantity Surveying and BOQ preparation
• AutoCAD (mandatory)
• MS Excel (advanced level)
• Knowledge of CPWD / PWD rates and IS codes
• Ability to analyse drawings and specifications
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Good communication and documentation skills

Additional Advantage

• Experience in interior, residential, commercial, or industrial projects
• Knowledge of MS Project / Primavera (optional)
• Contractor or Engineer Licence (optional, not mandatory)
