Job Description

Job Title : QA Automation

About the Role:

API & Backend Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Perform
API testing
using tools like
Postman, Swagger
, etc.
Validate
request/response payloads, headers
, and
backend logs
(Kibana, Splunk, or similar).
Conduct
integration and end-to-end testing
across microservices and backend systems.
Analyze and verify
data flow
between systems and databases.
Write and execute
SQL queries
for data validation and backend verification.
Identify, document, and report defects, ensuring resolution through collaboration with developers.
Contribute to
test planning, design, and execution
for SIT, UAT, and production support.
Utilize
test management tools
such as
JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr
, etc.
Support
CI/CD pipelines
, automation scripts, and version control (Git).
Prepare detailed test reports and ensure thorough documentation of testing activities.

Technical Skills Required:

API & Backend:

Strong experience in
API testing
(Postman, Swagger)
Deep understanding of
request/response cycles, headers, payloads
Familiarity with
JSON/XML
formats
Knowledge of
microservices architecture
and debugging of API integrations

Database & Systems:

Strong knowledge of
SQL
(select, joins, aggregations, validations)
Exposure to
DBeaver, SQL Developer
, or similar tools
Understanding of
data flow and backend processing

Automation & Tools:

Basic knowledge of
Python, REST Assured
, or similar scripting
Familiarity with
CI/CD pipelines
and
Git/version control

Testing Process:

Experience with
integration/system-level testing
Exposure to
SIT, UAT, and production support
Knowledge of
test management tools
(JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, etc.)

Soft Skills:

Strong
communication and documentation
skills
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Proactive, ownership-driven approach
Team player with
Agile/Scrum
experience
Ability to manage multiple modules or microservices effectively
