About The Opportunity

We are hiring a hands-on Python developer to join a remote-first engineering team focused on backend APIs, microservices, and platform integrations. You will design, build, and maintain production-grade services that deliver high availability, observability, and performance for customer-facing systems.Role & Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust backend services and RESTful APIs using Python frameworks (Django, Flask) for scalable web and microservice architectures.
• Write clean, testable code and create comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure service reliability and maintainability.
• Containerize applications and streamline deployment with Docker and CI/CD pipelines to improve release velocity and rollback safety.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps to define API contracts, performance goals, and observability requirements (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Optimize database interactions and data models for SQL-based stores; troubleshoot and resolve production incidents quickly.
• Contribute to technical design reviews, code reviews, and engineering best practices to raise overall team quality and security posture.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Proven track record delivering production Python backend services
• Hands-on experience with Django or Flask
• Designing and building RESTful APIs
• Relational database proficiency and query optimisation (SQL)
• Version control with Git and collaborative workflows (PRs, code review)
• Containerization and local reproducible environments using Docker
  

Preferred

• Experience with Celery or background job processing
• Familiarity with Kubernetes for orchestration
• Production experience with PostgreSQL and caching layers (Redis)
