Purchase Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with production requirements.
• Source and negotiate with reliable vendors and suppliers for pharmaceutical-grade raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables.
• Evaluate supplier performance on quality, delivery timelines, and pricing.
• Ensure timely procurement to avoid production delays and maintain optimum inventory levels.
• Maintain compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory and quality standards (GMP, FDA, etc.) during sourcing.
• Collaborate with the Production, Quality, and Finance teams for planning and coordination.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, contracts, and reports.
• Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Handle vendor audits and ensure complete documentation and traceability.
• Manage the procurement team and streamline operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement/purchase within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
• Strong knowledge of pharma-grade materials and compliance requirements (GMP, regulatory standards).
• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with sourcing APIs, excipients, and packaging materials.
• Familiarity with vendor management systems.
• Strong understanding of the pharma supply chain and risk mitigation strategies.
