Purchase officer

Job Summary

The Purchase Officer is responsible for procuring raw materials and consumables required for carton and packaging manufacturing, ensuring timely availability, cost efficiency, quality compliance, and proper documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure raw materials such as paper rolls, kraft paper, adhesives, inks, consumables, and spare parts as per production requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers; negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Prepare purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, and follow up to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with production and stores to maintain optimum inventory levels and avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and GRNs before forwarding to accounts.
• Maintain accurate purchase records, supplier data, and documentation as per SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and support internal and external audits.
• Handle supplier quality issues in coordination with stores and quality teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: 2–4 years of experience as a Purchase Officer/Procurement Executive in a manufacturing environment.
• Industry Exposure: Carton, packaging, paper, or related manufacturing industry preferred.
• Skills: MS Excel/ERP knowledge, negotiation skills, good communication, attention to detail.
• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field is an advantage.
