Operations Manager Location: Angmaly Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and results-driven to oversee all operational aspects of our corrugated carton box manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production while aggressively driving cost controls, minimizing waste, and managing resource allocation to meet aggressive business targets. Key Responsibilities & Duties This role centers on maximizing througout and profitability while maintaining strict quality and safety standards across the entire manufacturing process. 1. Production Oversight & Efficiency Oversee all production departments (e.g., printing, die-cutting, gluing, finishing) to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to schedules. Implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness ( OEE ), throughput, and on-time delivery. 2. Cost Control & Waste Reduction Serve as the primary driver for cost controlling initiatives across the plant. Develop and enforce strategies to reduce material wastage (paperboard, ink, consumables) to below target percentages. Optimize labour utilization , monitoring staffing levels against production demands to reduce unwanted or unproductive labour hours.. 3. Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process for the entire plant operation, collaborating with Finance. Develop and manage monthly operational plans based on sales forecasts and material availability. Conduct regular capacity planning and scheduling to meet customer deadlines efficiently. 4. Reporting & Analysis Prepare and present comprehensive weekly and monthly operational reports to senior management. Reports must detail production output, cost variances, waste metrics, labour efficiency, and significant deviations from the budget. Analyze performance data to identify root causes of inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions . Required Qualifications & Skills Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive management experience in a corrugated box or paper/packaging manufacturing environment is mandatory . Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial), Operations Management, or a related field. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the end-to-end carton manufacturing process, including corrugator operations (if applicable), flexographic printing, and die-cutting technology. Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and manage a diverse, multi-departmental workforce. Material Management & Verification Receiving: Execute the receipt and verification of all incoming raw materials, including paper rolls, glue, finished cartons, and consumables . Issuance: Accurately issue materials to the production unit strictly as per daily requirements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 2. Inventory Control & Reporting Stock Updates: Perform daily stock updates and maintain accurate records of material movement in the system. Reconciliation: Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile any discrepancies against the system inventory records. Loss Monitoring: Actively monitor, report, and document material damage and wastage to identify areas for improvement. 3. Safety & Compliance Store Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the storage area at all times, adhering to all company safety guidelines. Audit Support: Provide full support during internal and external audits and management reviews by preparing accurate documentation and stock verification reports. Preferred Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a store keeping or inventory control role. Industry Background: Previous experience in a carton, packaging, or general manufacturing store environment is highly preferred.
