Proposal Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• RFQ Handling:

  Act as the first point of contact for incoming RFQs from customers and the field sales team.

• Requirement Analysis:

  Independently evaluate RFQ specifications, technical drawings, and commercial terms to align them with our offerings.

• Cost Estimation:

  Prepare detailed and accurate cost sheets for fabricated steel components using company-approved costing models and software.

• Proposal Creation:

  Draft clear and compelling technical and commercial proposals in line with scope of supply, timelines, and commercial considerations.

• Cross-Functional Coordination:

  Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and production departments to gather inputs and deliver timely responses.

• Project Management:

  Manage multiple proposal requests simultaneously, ensuring adherence to internal proposal schedules and customer deadlines.

• Customer Engagement:

  Participate in client and subcontractor meetings to resolve technical clarifications and better understand project needs.

• Documentation & Compliance:

  Maintain proposal records and ensure all submissions comply with QA standards and company policy.

• Client Liaison:

  Act as a single point of contact for the client and internal teams on all techno-commercial matters throughout the proposal lifecycle.

• Risk Assessment:

  Identify commercial, technical, and delivery risks and support the transition of successful bids into contract execution phases.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  Diploma or Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering.

• Experience:

  3 - 6 years of experience in proposal, estimation, or sales engineering roles within the fabrication, industrial equipment, or project-based manufacturing industries.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, cost structures, and steel component manufacturing.
  
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and interpreting technical documents.
  
• Excellent communication skills for internal coordination and external client interaction.
  
• Good analytical and commercial acumen to evaluate feasibility and profitability.
  
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with costing software is a plus.
  
• Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings, if required.
