The Project Manager (PM), Scientific Communications plans and drives execution of cross-functional projects across the Scientific Communications portfolioincluding publications, medical content, and congress deliverablesin alignment with business priorities, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
This role also builds visibility through key performance indicators and dashboards and plays a pivotal role in the continuous improvement of Amgens Scientific Communications processes and systems.
Reporting to the Scientific Communications Director in India, this global role works across time zones in a highly matrixed environment with publication planners, medical content leads, information systems partners, vendors, and other global stakeholders to enable timely, accurate, and compliant delivery.
Through dotted-line reporting, the Project Manager coordinates with the Scientific Communications Operations Manager and Senior Manager in India to execute on technology enhancement initiatives, process automation, change management, and team training.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Planning and managing endtoend project schedules, scope, dependencies, and deliverables for publications, medical content, and congress activities
- Facilitating team meetings and working sessions, capturing decisions and action items, and driving timely followthrough
- Designing and building dashboards and routine reports to monitor data quality, assess impact, and communicate KPIs and compliance measures
- Coordinating congress planning and execution support in alignment with established processes
- Supporting publications operations in partnership with US-based publication planners and subject matter experts
- Providing support and training for India-based Scientific Communications stakeholders across a variety of applications, including Salesforce, Tableau, SharePoint, Veeva Vault, and Microsofts Power Platform
- Driving continuous improvement by identifying process inefficiencies and opportunities for automation; contributing to user acceptance testing and training for adoption of new or enhanced tools
- Ensuring adherence to Amgen Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
Masters degree with 4+ years relevant experience in medical communications or Pharma Industry

Bachelors degree & 2 years of directly related industry experience
OR
Associates degree & 4 years of directly related industry experience
Functional Skills:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP, PMIACP, PRINCE2) and/or agile delivery experience
- 4+ years of project management experience leading crossfunctional initiatives, preferably in a regulated, compliancedriven environment
- Working experience in medical affairs, publications, or scientific communications processes
- Working knowledge of common biotech platforms, such as Salesforce and Veeva Vault
- Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, risks/issues, scope changes, and stakeholder communications across multiple concurrent projects
- Proficiency with modern productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Miro) and MS Planner or similarly structured project management applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; proven experience facilitating meetings, summarizing decisions, and producing clear status updates
- Handson experience creating operational metrics, dashboards, and visualizations (e.g., Salesforce, Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
- Exposure to automation and AIassisted workflows to streamline processes and improve quality (e.g., Power Platform, low code/no code tools, VBA)
- Ability to work effectively across time zones and in a highly matrixed organization
