Job Title: Project Manager – Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Location: Jaunpur District, Uttar Pradesh (covering 18 Gram Panchayats) Project: Jal Jeevan Mission – Rural Drinking Water Supply Employment Type: Full-Time / Contractual Reporting To: District Coordinator / Executive Engineer (PHED) Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Project Manager to oversee and manage the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in 18 Gram Panchayats of Jaunpur. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of piped water supply schemes as per JJM guidelines, ensuring community participation, quality compliance, and timely completion. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the planning and execution of all project components under JJM in the assigned 18 GPs. Coordinate with government departments (PHED, District Administration, PRI, etc.) for smooth project implementation. Prepare project timelines, budgets, and resource plans; ensure adherence to them. Supervise contractors, site engineers, and field teams; ensure quality control and timely work progress. Conduct regular field visits for inspection and monitoring. Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and MIS data entry as per JJM norms. Facilitate community engagement activities including IEC (Information, Education, and Communication), capacity building, and training for Village Water & Sanitation Committees (VWSCs). Monitor household tap connections and ensure sustainability of water sources. Resolve project-level challenges and escalate major issues to higher authorities. Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports and presentations for stakeholders. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Environmental Engineering / Project Management or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in rural water supply or infrastructure projects; preference for prior work under JJM or similar government schemes. Strong understanding of government project implementation processes, especially rural development projects. Experience in managing field teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders. Skills Required: Excellent project management and leadership skills. Strong written and verbal communication (Hindi & English). Knowledge of JJM guidelines, rural water supply systems, and public health engineering. Familiarity with government e-procurement and reporting portals. Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools. Preferred: Experience working with Gram Panchayats and local communities in Uttar Pradesh. Ability to travel frequently within the district.
