Job Description

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling, and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) Services in Bangalore we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering leadership expertise in a dynamic and innovative field. You’ll work alongside dedicated, collaborative, and forward-thinking teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in driving project engineering activities while ensuring quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) commitments are met. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including Project Managers, Train Engineers, and Engineering Quality Managers, to ensure seamless project execution, manage interfaces, and contribute to the global scheduling convergence.
You’ll specifically take care of representing engineering within the project core team and managing the engineering work package, but also ensuring operational quality and mitigating risks.
We’ll look to you for:
  • Managing project engineering activities and delivering the engineering work package in compliance with QCD commitments.
  • Representing Alstom Project Engineering to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Providing regular reporting and performance analysis through the PrEM cockpit.
  • Defining and ensuring the application of the Engineering Management Plan.
  • Managing and coordinating the engineering core team functionally.
  • Updating and maintaining the engineering baseline, including variation orders and configuration changes.
  • Driving operational quality improvements and managing design reviews.
  • Mitigating engineering risks and implementing savings action plans.
  • Escalating and communicating critical path issues related to engineering activities.

All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
  • Degree in Engineering or a related field, with 20 years of experience.
  • General knowledge of product development and engineering tasks.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in product development and management positions for large-scale servicesprojects (e.g., >100,000 hours).
  • Strong leadership and functional management skills, with the ability to lead teams ranging from 10 to 200 people.
  • Familiarity with engineering planning, quality management, and risk mitigation processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in managing engineering work packages and ensuring compliance with QCD commitments.

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:
  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from monotonous routines.

  • Contribute to innovative and impactful projects.
  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment.

  • Progress towards senior engineering or management roles.
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).
You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
