Job Description

The Project Engineer – MEP is responsible for managing and coordinating all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems within hospitality construction projects such as hotels, resorts, and serviced apartments. The role involves overseeing design implementation, installation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and quality standards. This position requires strong coordination with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and the client. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Coordination: Assist in developing MEP execution strategies and work schedules aligned with project timelines. Review and coordinate MEP designs and drawings with architectural and structural components. Liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors for MEP design validation and approvals. Site Execution & Supervision: Supervise MEP site activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and local codes. Monitor installation of HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, electrical, ELV systems, etc. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, progress, and safety. Procurement & Vendor Management: Support in selecting and evaluating MEP subcontractors and suppliers. Review material submittals and shop drawings. Ensure timely procurement and delivery of MEP equipment and materials. Testing & Commissioning: Coordinate the testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems. Address and resolve technical issues or NCRs related to MEP installations. Project Reporting: Prepare and maintain logs, progress reports, and site documentation. Report issues, risks, and deviations to the Project Manager/MEP Manager. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field. 7+ years of experience in MEP engineering within the construction industry. Proven experience in hospitality projects (e.g., hotels, resorts, serviced apartments) is a must. Strong knowledge of MEP systems, local building codes, and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, DEWA, etc.). Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and MS Office; knowledge of project planning software (Primavera/MS Project) is a plus. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
