Project Engineer - Construction

Position Overview: The role of a Project Engineer (Construction) provides an opportunity to oversee and coordinate large-scale construction projects, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, safety, and quality standards, strong technical expertise, hands-on site supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review manpower, equipment, and material requirements, and forecast project timelines.
• Monitor and report site progress, risks, and delays; recommend corrective actions.
• Track contractors’ schedules, maintain hindrance register, and support contractual communication.
• Prepare and present progress reports and MIS for management review.

Site Supervision

• Supervise day-to-day site activities and allocate project tasks effectively.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract terms, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, HVAC, fire, and interior contractors for seamless execution.
• Maintain project documentation, site records, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Promote and ensure a strong safety culture across all project sites.

Billing & Estimation

• Review contractors’ bills and measurements against actual site work.
• Ensure timely joint measurements and documentation for future reference.
• Exercise strict cost control, verify BOQ items, and avoid deviations from specifications.
• Support value engineering initiatives and cost forecasting.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure execution as per work methodology, QA/QC plans, and industry standards.
• Monitor field and lab tests, ensuring compliance with safety and quality benchmarks.
• Coordinate with vendors to maintain best-in-class construction practices.

Essential Qualification & Skills:

• B.E. in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• 10-12 years, preferably with client-side project management background.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and Excel. Working knowledge of MS Project / Primavera P6 preferred.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Eye for detail, proactive attitude, and ability to multitask effectively.
