Job Description

Job Summary :

The IT Developer Production Support is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing healthcare payor systems to ensure seamless claims processing, eligibility verification, and payment integrity. This role provides L2/L3 technical support, resolves system issues, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve IT operations and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Production Support & Issue Resolution:

  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve real-time system issues affecting claims processing, provider payments, and member eligibility.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for application failures and implement long-term solutions.
  • Work closely with business users, QA teams, and IT operations to ensure smooth system performance.

Development & Enhancements

  • Develop and deploy bug fixes, patches, and minor enhancements to improve system stability.
  • Collaborate with developers to optimize existing applications and scripts for better performance.
  • Support batch job execution and monitoring for critical healthcare payor processes.

System Monitoring & Maintenance

  • Utilize logging, alerting, and monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve issues.
  • Perform system health checks, database optimizations, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and other regulatory guidelines related to healthcare IT.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work with cross-functional teams, including claims, finance, provider services, and compliance, to understand business needs.
  • Document issue resolutions, process improvements, and system updates for knowledge sharing.
  • Assist in preparing SOPs, technical documentation, and user guides for production support activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certification :

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications in ITIL, Azure, AWS, or database management are a plus.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in IT development and production support in a healthcare payor environment.
  • Strong knowledge of claims processing, EDI transactions (837, 835, 270/271), and HIPAA compliance.
  • Experience with SQL databases, batch jobs, and healthcare payor platforms (Facets, QNXT, HealthEdge, etc.).

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, scripting, and other technical knowledge for troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with API integrations, middleware, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with ETL tools, monitoring tools, and job schedulers.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for debugging complex issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with business teams and vendors.
