ob Description – Production Supervisor (PVC Extrusion Profiles) Position: Production Supervisor Industry: PVC Extrusion Profile Manufacturing Reporting To: Production Manager / Plant Head Role Overview The Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing shop-floor operations of the PVC extrusion profile manufacturing unit. The role involves daily production planning, manpower deployment, machine utilization, and coordination with sales and maintenance teams to ensure smooth, cost-effective, and timely production. The supervisor will be the key link between management and operators, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency at all times. Key Responsibilities Shop Floor & Team Management Supervise and guide operators, helpers, and technicians on the shop floor. Ensure discipline, productivity, and adherence to company policies. Conduct daily shift briefings and allocate manpower as per production requirements. Production Planning & Scheduling Prepare and execute daily/weekly production plans as per sales orders. Adjust schedules based on customer urgency or machine availability. Monitor production output against targets and report deviations. Coordination & Communication Coordinate with the Sales team to prioritize urgent customer orders. Work closely with the Maintenance team to handle machine breakdowns and minimize downtime. Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure products meet specifications. Machine & Process Handling Oversee the setup and operation of extrusion machines, printing/embossing units, and cutting machines. Monitor machine parameters to maintain consistent quality. Support troubleshooting during breakdowns and escalate when required. Manpower Planning Prepare daily manpower schedules for machine operation, packing, and dispatch. Ensure proper skill utilization and training of new operators. Manage shift rotations and leave planning. Production Monitoring & Reporting Maintain daily production records (shift reports, downtime, rejections). Track OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) – man, machine, material. Highlight areas of wastage, scrap, or rework and suggest improvements. Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure safe working practices on the shop floor. Enforce use of PPEs and compliance with safety standards. Conduct regular housekeeping and safety checks. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to reduce cycle time, scrap, and energy consumption. Suggest process improvements for better productivity and cost savings. Participate in Kaizen / Lean initiatives.
