Job Title: Production Shift Supervisor – BIW (Body in White) Department: Production / Manufacturing Reports To: Production Manager Job Summary:We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Production Shift Supervisor to manage and coordinate Body in White (BIW) operations during the shift. The role involves end-to-end shift planning, manpower management, safety checks, quality monitoring, and effective coordination with other departments to ensure seamless production and quality output. Key Responsibilities:Shift Communication & CoordinationReceive and relay communication from the previous shift. Conduct shift start briefings and plan manpower reallocations as required. Coordinate with line in-charges for daily operational follow-ups. Production & Quality MonitoringMonitor daily production output on an hourly basis and update reports. Manage line production activities, identify and resolve errors proactively. Conduct BC2 visits for quality checks and audits of the previous shift’s BIW. Monitor and follow up on tear-down BIW and weld quality corrections. Safety & ComplianceMonitor daily safety device status and ensure compliance. Conduct PEP talks on PPE usage and line safety. Address metal dust feedback and initiate corrective actions. Quality Assurance & AuditingReview Q-Lick data for welding equipment error corrections. Ensure correction and proper functioning of robot keepers. Check Vin quality and inspection procedures. Monitor and review Je Sealer and Keeper Check Sheets. Participate in BIW audits at BC2 and provide feedback to lines for customer defect correction. Coordinate and follow up on DMS system audits and housekeeping activities. Process ImprovementIdentify ODOS (On-Demand Operational Support) improvements related to safety and workability. Plan and implement quality corrections in jigs/robots during breaks. Monitor and reduce CO2 Robot WRC errors. Team Management & DevelopmentAddress absenteeism by utilizing multi-skilled flexi operators. Encourage and develop multi-skill capabilities among staff. Conduct PEP Talks to reinforce safety and operational discipline. Cross-Functional CoordinationCollaborate with the Paint Shop team for customer-end inspections and feedback. Coordinate recycling/rework processes related to OS&D (Over, Short & Damaged) materials. Align with the inspection team for quality feedback and ensure follow-up corrections. Requirements:Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or equivalent. 3-5 years of experience in automobile BIW shop floor supervision or related role. Strong understanding of welding processes, robot operations, and quality management. Hands-on experience in shift management, manpower planning, and safety compliance. Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with DMS, ODOS, Q-Lick systems, and other shop floor tools is a plus. Preferred Attributes:Detail-oriented and proactive approach. Strong team coordination and multi-tasking ability. Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
