Position Overview

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Operate and monitor all die floor activities across three shifts as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  2. Ensure achievement of shift production targets, maintaining required yield and product quality.
  3. Maintain all equipment in optimal working condition and ensure minimal downtime.
  4. Conduct regular inspections and submit shift performance and progress reports.
  5. Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend corrective or improvement measures.
  6. Ensure accurate and timely production data entries in ERP systems.
  7. Troubleshoot process and operational issues during the shift.
  8. Operate and manage centralized coating systems, including changeovers and maintenance coordination.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Adhere to all Quality Management System (QMS) and Environment, Occupational Health & Safety (EOHS) standards.
  2. Maintain a safe and hazard-free workplace, minimizing risks of slips, trips, and physical injuries.
  3. Promptly report near-miss incidents or safety-related concerns.

Educational Qualifications

  • Degree:

    Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma
  • Specialization:

    Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

Work Experience

  • Industry:

    Optical Fibre Manufacturing
  • Experience:

    Relevant experience in draw tower operations and fibre drawing processes preferred

  • Strong knowledge of die floor fibre drawing processes and coating systems
  • Excellent process troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production reporting tools
  • Understanding of raw materials, process equipment, and waste generation management
  • Knowledge of fire extinguishers and plant safety procedures
  • Customer-focused mindset with commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical, planning, and scheduling capabilities
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
