Production Planning Control (PPC) Engineer/Manager for A Hydraulic Cylinders Manufacturing:
Qualifications: BE/MTech Mechanical Engineering/ BBA / MBA Operations Management
Experience: 7 – 15 Years
Age : Below 35 Yrs.
Key Roles and Responsibilities of a PPC Engineer/Manager in a Hydraulic Cylinders Multi-Component Production Line:
1. Planning and Scheduling:
Creating a schedule that outlines the production of each component and the final product, considering constraints like machine capacity and labour availability.
Determining the sequence of operations for each component, ensuring efficient flow and minimizing bottlenecks.
Ensuring that all necessary materials, equipment, and labour are available as they are needed.
2. Production Control:
Issuing production job orders with Route Cards with tentative cycle times & key tolerances well defined and printed along with the stage wise process engineering drawings to the shop floor, specifying quantities, materials, and deadlines against each machine.
Monitoring day to day outputs and bottleneck capacities in house & planning and Assigning job orders to specific sub-contractors based on the delivery schedule and available internal resources.
Monitoring the progress of production and identifying potential delays, taking corrective actions to keep the process on track to ensure timely assembly of final cylinder products and delivery commitments to customers.
Managing inventory levels to ensure that components are readily available when needed, while minimizing carrying costs. This includes monitoring and maintaining a Raw Material & A Planning Store with semi-finished and finished components to utilise based on customer orders and specifications that are both nonstandard or standard component categories.
Monitoring the quality of components on the shop floor and those coming from sub-contracting and the final product to ensure it meets specified standards with no reworks allowed during the production process cycles.
3. Optimization and Improvement:
Analysing machine capacity and workload to identify bottlenecks and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
Continuously evaluating and improving the production process to minimize waste, reduce lead times, and increase efficiency.
Utilizing data to identify trends, measure performance, and make informed decisions to improve production processes.
4. Coordination and Communication:
Collaborating with other departments like sales, purchasing, sub-contracts and design engineering to ensure smooth workflow and efficient resource allocation.
Providing clear instructions and updates to the production team, well in advance & ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities and deadlines to meet customer dispatch dates.
Addressing production issues promptly and effectively, working with the team to identify solutions and implement improvements.
5. Data Analysis and Improvement:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production efficiency, lead times, and defect rates.
Analyse data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for process optimization.
Develop and implement solutions to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
