Job Description

Job Title: Production Officer

Department: Production / Manufacturing

Reports To: Production Manager / Plant Head

Job Purpose:

To ensure smooth, efficient, and safe production operations while meeting quality, quantity, and delivery targets. The Production Officer coordinates manpower, materials, and machinery to achieve daily production goals as per the production plan.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Execution

  • Execute daily and weekly production schedules as per plan.
  • Monitor process flow, line balancing, and output on the shop floor.
  • Ensure availability of raw materials, consumables, and tools for uninterrupted production.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Stores, and Maintenance teams for smooth operations.

2. Process & Quality Control

  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Monitor product quality and reduce rework or rejection.
  • Liaise with the Quality Department to maintain production standards.
  • Implement process improvements and optimize resource utilization.

3. Manpower Management

  • Supervise operators, helpers, and technicians on the shop floor.
  • Ensure proper shift allocation, training, and skill development.
  • Maintain discipline, attendance, and safety of workers.

4. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain production records: output, downtime, material consumption, and wastage.
  • Submit daily production reports to the Production Manager.
  • Support in preparing MIS and performance analysis reports.

5. Safety, Maintenance & 5S

  • Ensure adherence to safety norms and PPE usage.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities in coordination with Maintenance Department.
  • Maintain 5S and good housekeeping practices on the shop floor.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes and production systems.
  • Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and team management abilities.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Understanding of Lean, Kaizen, or ISO standards (preferred).

Educational Qualification:

  • Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or related field.

Experience Required:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment.

Performance Indicators:

  • Achievement of production targets.
  • Reduction in rework/rejection and downtime.
  • Improved productivity and efficiency.
  • Compliance with safety and quality standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹420,000.00 per year
