The role

  • Own and execute product backlog built on top of the high-level business roadmap defined by the Product Manager. This includes assessing value and prioritizing user-stories, epics, and strategic themes to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value, aligned with product strategy.
  • Align regularly with the Product Manager on the product vision, roadmap, upcoming sprints and any shifts in strategic direction and keep the Product Manager updated on development progress and health status of the product.
  • To work closely within the UX designers, software development teams and architects to ensure they build the right functionality in a timely manner.
  • Work in an Agile environment and continuously review the business needs, refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks.
  • Customer first mindset - serve as the voice of the customer by developing a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience.
  • Translate product roadmap into well-defined product requirements including acceptance test criteria. Maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation.
  • Lead the product functional design process based on an intimate knowledge of the users and technology.
  • Work with internal and / or external delivery partners, to execute against product backlog, ensuring an appropriate focus on sustaining performance and protecting the product from technical debt.
  • Understand in detail how the delivery partner will be changing the product and how this may impact existing capabilities, and how LR can exploit new features that become available.
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings, planning, reviews and retrospectives to ensure the development teams understand the why, what and how.
  • Work with Scrum Master to ensure the product delivery is on track.
  • Be accountable for the financial performance of the Product from a technology perspective, including setting the budgets for the next 3 years and how this will be recharged to our customers within LR. Manage the impact on any new requirements and ensuring that there is additional funding available if these requirements are out of scope of the core service.
  • Be accountable for ensuring alignment with enterprise governance standards and processes for product management, technology, service and security. Work collaboratively with functional peers to ensure that the governance standards are met and delivered and take responsibility for resolving any shortfalls.
  • Work with QA to ensure adequate test coverage for the product. Drive a quality driven mindset with testing included as part of the development process. Utilize automated testing as much as possible to ensure a high-quality, performant and stable product throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Accountable for the maintenance of technical design and other associated Product documentation.
  • Understanding the importance of governance processes and controls and working with these to deliver the product in an optimum manner.
  • Ensuring that the Product complies with GDPR and other internal or external regulatory/audit requirements.

What You Bring

  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
  • At least 4 years work experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management, ideally aligned to the specific product this role is targeted for.
  • Technical background in Salesforce Experience Cloud is preferable
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
  • Strong focus on understanding customer behaviour and pain points to deliver optimal solutions.
  • Deep understanding and experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and/or Kanban
  • Knows how to define the product roadmap supported by customer/market data.
  • Experience with a definition of minimum marketable features and minimum viable products.
  • Experience in managing suppliers, holding suppliers accountable whilst developing collaborative relationships to underpin ‘agile’ contracts.
