Job Purpose

To lead the merchandise planning and product lifecycle strategy across all categories, ensuring the right product mix, pricing, inventory management, and coordination with design, sourcing, and sales channels. The role is critical in driving profitable growth while delivering consumer-relevant offerings on time and within budget.

Key Result Areas & Supporting Actions

Merchandise Grid Management for All Product Categories

  • Conduct

    trend analysis

    using historical sales data to guide future assortment planning.
  • Collect structured

    feedback from key channel partners

    on past performance of product offerings.
  • Run

    costing sheets

    to maintain budgeted gross margins (GP/CBA) and suggest final MRPs accordingly.
  • Manage

    product pricing

    and maintain PC to MRP ratio in alignment with financial budgets.
  • Finalize

    indent quantities at SKU level

    across product categories based on forecasts and channel needs.
  • Develop a

    merchandise grid for the season

    and coordinate planning calendars.
  • Provide

    brand briefs to the Design Studio

    , aligning them with the seasonal product strategy.

Cross-Functional Coordination for Timely Product Execution

  • Ensure that the planned grids are translated effectively into

    production schedules

    .
  • Track and achieve

    PPM (Pre-Production Meeting) targets

    for timely execution.
  • Plan and execute

    CTMs (Category Trade Meetings)

    as per seasonal timelines.
  • Maintain freshness on

    E-commerce platforms

    with new SMUs every 15 days.
  • Finalize

    Goldseal/material requirement plans

    to prevent sourcing delays.
  • Work closely with

    retail, franchise, and online sales teams

    to understand business needs and align the merchandise mix accordingly.

Inventory Management & Sell-Through Optimization

  • Conduct

    sell-through analysis

    to evaluate product performance and liquidation status.
  • Manage leftover

    raw materials

    through repackaging, reoffering, and dormancy control strategies.
  • Ensure minimal inventory aging and optimize turn ratios across categories.

Team Management & Leadership

  • Define

    goals, KPIs, and development plans

    for team members.
  • Identify and address

    skill gaps

    through coaching and functional training.
  • Handle

    inter-departmental conflicts

    and promote a collaborative working environment.
  • Provide ongoing

    mentorship and motivation

    to ensure team engagement and productivity.
