Role Overview

We are seeking an Intermediate Product Design Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who already has practical experience in mechanical/product design and is looking to take ownership of end-to-end product development in the EdTech and Robotics domain. You will play a key role in designing, prototyping, and optimizing products for both in-house learning kits and client solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end product design from concept to production.

Develop 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.

Collaborate with electronics & software teams for integrated product design.

Conduct DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) analysis.

Build and test functional prototypes using 3D printing, CNC, or other rapid prototyping tools.

Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure design feasibility, cost optimization, and quality.

Research new technologies, lightweight materials, and sustainable design approaches.

Mentor junior design engineers and interns on CAD best practices.

Support in preparing assembly manuals, technical documentation, and competition-ready prototypes.

Required Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechatronics, or related field.

2–5 years of proven experience in product design or mechanical design engineering.

Strong expertise in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD).

Good understanding of manufacturing processes (3D printing, injection molding, sheet metal, machining, etc.).

Hands-on experience in prototype development and testing.

Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Ability to handle multiple projects and work in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Preferred Skills

Prior experience with educational kits, robotics, or consumer electronics.

Knowledge of electronics integration, sensors, actuators, and IoT hardware.

Exposure to simulation tools (FEA/CFD) for stress, thermal, or motion analysis.

Experience working directly with vendors/manufacturers.

Awareness of AR/VR, 3D printing, and next-gen design trends.
