Product Design Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a Product Design Engineer with Industrial Design expertise to develop consumer-focused products that balance engineering performance, usability, and aesthetics. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, combining mechanical design with an eye for industrial design and user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop innovative B2C products that meet functional, ergonomic, and aesthetic requirements.

• Use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create 3D models, 2D drawings, and design mockups.

• Collaborate with industrial designers to align product form, usability, and brand identity.

• Develop concept sketches, renderings, and visual presentations for new product ideas.

• Select suitable materials, finishes, and colors based on cost, brand guidelines, and sustainability.

• Work with cross-functional teams (R&D, marketing, and production) to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.

• Support prototype development, testing, and validation.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and regulatory requirements.

• Optimize designs for cost, quality, and large-scale manufacturing.

• Implement continuous improvement on existing products based on customer feedback and competitor benchmarking.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Design / Product Design Engineering.

• 3–6 years’ experience in B2C product design (home appliances, consumer electronics, or related).

• Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, surface modeling) and AutoCAD (2D drafting).

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes: plastics, sheet metal, die casting, injection molding, and assembly.

• Strong understanding of ergonomics, usability, and industrial design principles.

• Familiar with DFM, DFA, GD&T, and material selection.

• Excellent visualization, presentation, and communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and cross-functional teams. 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in home appliances, kitchenware, or consumer electronics.

• Exposure to 3D printing and rapid prototyping.

• Familiarity with rendering tools (KeyShot, Adobe Suite) for visual presentations.

• Knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, DFMEA, PPAP, APQP).

• Awareness of eco-friendly and sustainable product design practices.
