What we are looking for

We are seeking a Principal Architect to help us strengthen our system design governance and architectural scalability as we grow. This is a hands-on technical leadership role — designed for someone who can bridge product context, system architecture, and execution depth.

You’ll partner directly with the CTO to codify and evolve MeasureOne’s architecture across our microservices ecosystem, data pipelines, and API framework. You will design, build, and guide by doing — working deeply within our systems and teams to elevate design quality, scalability, and maintainability.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise-level product features in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Participate in architecture and system design discussions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code following best industry practices
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing modules for performance and efficiency
• Work closely with the product and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Take full ownership of deliverables — from ideation to deployment in production

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Ownership:

• Design, evolve, and document end-to-end system architectures across backend, frontend, and infrastructure layers. Establish standards for scalability, maintainability, and performance.

• Hands-On Contribution:

• Write and review high-quality, production-ready code. Set technical direction through code, not just through documents.

• System Design Leadership:

• Drive the evolution of our platform architecture across services, APIs, and data layers. Evaluate trade-offs between technologies, design patterns, and implementation strategies.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with engineering leads, product managers, and infrastructure teams to align technical strategy with business goals.
• Provide architectural mentorship to senior engineers.

• Performance, Resilience, and Observability:

• Ensure systems are designed for testability, reliability, and traceability. Champion quality gates, CI/CD best practices, and continuous improvement in developer productivity.

Required Tech Expertise

• Languages & Frameworks:

• Deep, hands-on experience in Java, Node.js, GoLang, and hands-on knowledge of React or AngularJS.

• Architecture:

• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, domain-driven architecture, microservices, and scalable service patterns.

• Cloud & DevOps:

• Practical exposure to AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation pipelines. Able to guide infrastructure-aware design and performance optimization.

• Data Systems:

• Strong grasp of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and familiarity with event-driven and asynchronous data architectures.

• Quality & Governance:

• Solid grounding in testing frameworks, observability tools, and architectural patterns that ensure resilience and maintainability.
