Job Description

GIFTCL invites applications for the position of President - Business Development (on contract). The remuneration will be commensurate with qualification and experience.

The candidate should have done masters degree in business administration (Full time) in Marketing, International Business, Finance, or a related field from a reputed B-school. Additional certifications or executive programs in strategy, leadership, or global business (optional but desirable), with minimum 20+ years of relevant experience in business development & corporate sales preferably in Large Real Estate firms, IPC firms, Special economic zones or Global business hubs. Relevant experience in branding, content, and digital marketing will be an added advantage. Proven track record in engaging with stakeholders both domestic / global and converting high-value prospects. Candidate having international experience / exposure / knowledge would be desirable. The detailed job description is as under,

  • Strategic Business Development

  • Drive strategic initiatives to attract national and international companies to establish operations in GIFT City, with a strong focus on financial services, IT, and Ites sectors.
  • Identify high-potential industry segments, emerging markets, and anchor clients aligned with the citys long-term vision and sectoral priorities.
  • Actively engage in outbound sales efforts targeting financial and IT sector companies to bring their operations into GIFT City.
  • Sales Strategy, Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients through market intelligence, investor outreach, and engagement with global industry associations.
  • Define and execute the corporate sales strategy aligned with business goals to acquire large financial institutions, Fin Tech, GCCs & IT/ITES
  • Establish and nurture trust-based relationships with CXOs, global business leaders, and institutional decision-makers to convert prospects into committed investors.
  • Explore and expand sales channels including online platforms, international markets and institutional partners
  • Lead high-level business meetings, forums, and pitch sessions to present GIFT City’s unique value proposition.
  • Marketing & Positioning Strategy

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive international marketing strategy to position GIFT City as a premier global business destination.
  • Leverage insights from global trends, sectoral developments, and peer-city benchmarking to craft compelling narratives and targeted outreach campaigns.
  • Plan and manage integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, social media, and events to maximize visibility and engagement.
  • Ensure campaign messaging is globally relevant, consistent, and compelling.
  • Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with internal departments and key stakeholders to ensure seamless onboarding, handholding of new clients, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a central point of coordination between investors and various GIFT City entities to streamline processes and resolve bottlenecks
  • Global Representation & Event Participation

  • Represent GIFT City at international exhibitions, trade fairs, investment summits, and bilateral business forums to showcase its offerings.
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact global events for participation and speaking opportunities.
  • Conceptualize and host marquee events and global business delegations within GIFT City to attract industry attention and drive footfall.
  • Reporting & Analytics

  • Generate real-time sales dashboards and periodic reports for leadership and board presentations
  • Use data analytics to optimize sales funnels, pricing strategies, and team performance

Competencies Required

  • Domain Expertise

  • Proven ability to conceptualize and drive large-scale corporate sales strategies across (commercial, office & mixed-use), delivering consistent revenue growth.
  • In-depth experience in corporate sales, including B2B leasing, bulk deals, and enterprise partnerships. Strong understanding of corporate real estate needs, location strategies and decision-making hierarchies.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, acquiring, and managing large corporate accounts, including Financial Institutions, Indian conglomerates, IT/ITeS firms, BFSI institutions, and Global Capability Centres (GCCs). Skilled in building trust-based, long-term client relationships.
  • Client Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Proven track record in attracting and successfully onboarding reputed clients from financial services, technology/ITeS, and Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
  • Ability to identify, engage, and convert strategic accounts into long-term stakeholders.
  • Strategic Marketing

  • Experience in designing and executing impactful marketing strategies that drive measurable lead generation, brand visibility, and investor interest.
  • Ability to cultivate strategic alliances with brokerage firms, IPCs, wealth advisors and corporate intermediaries to widen sales funnel and improve conversion rates.
  • Skilled in multi-channel campaign planning tailored to global audiences.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and nurture high-level relationships across public and private sectors.
  • Track record of building, mentoring, and leading high-performance corporate sales teams across regions. Capable of setting clear KPIs, fostering a results-driven culture, and aligning teams with business objectives.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities and presence in boardroom-level engagements.
  • Global Outlook & Positioning

  • A global mindset with the ability to position GIFT City competitively on the international stage.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers, policy influencers, and multinational corporations.
