Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable professional with a solid background in insurance and specialty expertise in premium tax compliance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing premium tax returns, estimates, and ensuring compliance with state and local insurance tax regulations. Experience with premium tax compliance software is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and file state and local insurance premium tax returns accurately and on time.
- Calculate premium tax estimates and manage payment schedules to ensure compliance with filing deadlines.
- Analyze and interpret state and local insurance tax regulations and legislation to assess impact on filings.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure alignment and accuracy in tax reporting.
- Utilize premium tax compliance software tools to increase efficiency and accuracy in tax filings.
- Respond to inquiries and audits from state tax authorities as needed.
- Stay current with changes in insurance premium tax laws and best practices.
- Support process improvement initiatives and maintain documentation of procedures.
Role Criteria
- Min 7 Years relevant experience in Insurance Premium Tax
- Certified EA/CPA - Mandatory
Qualifications
- Knowledge of state and local insurance premium tax regulations and filing requirements.
- Proven experience preparing and filing premium tax returns and estimates.
- Familiarity with premium tax compliance software platforms is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
