Job Summary

The Planning Engineer (Civil) is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of civil construction projects. The role involves coordination with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to track progress, analyze delays, and support effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 / MS Project
  • Prepare baseline schedules, look-ahead plans, and recovery schedules
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules on a regular basis
  • Identify critical activities, potential delays, and risks; propose mitigation measures
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports
  • Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors for accurate planning
  • Track manpower, material, and equipment requirements against the schedule
  • Support cost control and cash flow forecasting in coordination with the commercial team
  • Analyze variations, claims, and time extensions
  • Ensure planning activities comply with contract requirements and project standards
  • Participate in project meetings and provide planning-related inputs

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 8-10 years of experience in planning for civil construction projects

(roads, buildings, infrastructure, industrial projects, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and methodologies

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 / MS Project
  • Good understanding of project controls, scheduling, and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and coordination abilities
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Should have knowledge of ERP Software

Preferred Experience (Optional)

  • Experience with EPC or large infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with contract conditions (FIDIC or similar)
  • Knowledge of cost control and earned value analysis
