Role Description

We are excited for motivated PhD students to join the School of Engineering and Applied Science, Ahmedabad University. The PhD program offers the opportunity to conduct original research in areas such as Intelligent Transportation Systems, Intelligent Vehicles (AGV, UAV, AUV), Human Factors, and Sustainable Mobility.

As a PhD student, you will:

• Conduct independent and collaborative research under faculty supervision.
• Design experiments, collect and analyse data, and contribute to scholarly publications.
• Present findings at conferences, workshops, and seminars.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and international networks.
• Contribute to teaching and mentoring undergraduate/graduate students.
• Engage in academic activities that strengthen the research ecosystem of the university.
• This position is on-site at Ahmedabad University (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India), with access to labs, an academic community of various fields, and opportunities for global collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field. (Btech with conditions)
• Strong foundation in research methodologies, data analysis, and experimental design.
• Proficiency with relevant tools/software (e.g., statistical analysis, modelling, or simulation tools).
• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

• Ahmedabad University awards full tuition fee waivers and financial support to all full-time doctoral students. Support may be provided through:

University Assistantship: ₹40,000 per month + full tuition fee waiver

University Fellowship: ₹50,000 per month + full tuition fee waiver

Sponsored Projects: Support through externally funded research projects
