Job Summary The Payroll and Compliance Executive will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, statutory compliance, HR audits, and ensuring the organization adheres to applicable labor laws and internal HR policies. The role ensures timely salary disbursement, proper deductions, compliance reporting, and risk mitigation through effective governance of HR operations. Roles & responsibilities 1. Payroll Processing • Manage end-to-end payroll cycle: salary computation, incentive calculations, tax deductions, and statutory contributions (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, etc.). • Validate and process employee data: attendance, leaves, bonuses, loans, and salary revisions. • Coordinate with Finance for salary disbursement and reconciliations. • Generate and distribute payslips and Form-16 to employees. • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee queries. 2. HR Compliance • Ensure compliance with all statutory labor laws including Shops & Establishments Act, Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Wages Act, EPF Act, ESI Act, Bonus Act, Gratuity Act, and Income Tax rules. • Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly/annual statutory returns (e.g., PF, ESI, PT, TDS, etc.). • Monitor regulatory changes and update internal systems and policies accordingly. • Assist with employee welfare compliances such as maternity leave, sexual harassment policy adherence. • Manage labor inspections, audit, and ensure timely closure of non-compliances. 3. HR Records & Documentation • Maintain updated and accurate employee records (e.g., offer letters, appointment letters, ID proofs, salary structures). • Checking attendance records on weekly and monthly basis, maintain the attendance reports. • Manage HRMS/HRIS data integrity and generate reports on headcount, attrition, salary register, etc. • Maintain audit-ready documentation for internal and external review. Audits & Risk Management • Support internal, statutory, and third-party audits by providing necessary payroll and HR compliance data. • Maintain records of labor law filings and liaise with auditors and labor consultants. • Identify and mitigate HR and payroll-related risks and recommend corrective actions Preferred candidate profile Education : Graduate degree in Commerce, Human Resources, finance, or a related field. Experience : 2 to 3 years of experience in payroll and HR statutory compliance, the candidate must have strong experience processing payroll for a minimum of 300 employees. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including expertise in functions such as VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, IF statements, PivotTables, data validation, conditional formatting. Systems Knowledg e: Hands-on experience with payroll software - GreytHR software knowledge will be an added advantage. Legal Knowledge : Strong understanding of local employment laws and government portals (EPFO, ESIC, Income Tax).
