Optics Designer (Lens Design & Zemax Specialist)
Design and development of objective lens for uncooled LWIR, Cooled LWIR/MWIR.
Day optics like Monocular & Binocular Eyepiece and windows for Multi-functional sigh as per the
system requirement.
Develop requirements for optical components and systems based on product requirements.
Design, model, analyze, and optimize imaging and/or illumination optical systems using Zemax
Optic Studio.
Perform detailed tolerance analysis to ensure designs are robust and manufacturable.
Create comprehensive design documentation, including performance analysis reports, error
budgets, and tolerance reports.
Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing partners to
ensure design feasibility and successful integration.
Support the prototyping, testing, and validation of optical systems in the lab.
Characterize and troubleshoot optical performance issues during development and production.
Stay current with the latest advancements in optical design software, manufacturing techniques,
and component availability.
Category Description
Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Optics, Physics or a related field.
Experience 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience in optical design.
High proficiency with Zemax OpticStudio
Strong theoretical knowledge of geometrical optics, aberration theory, diffraction, and image
formation.
Proven experience in designing and optimizing multi-element lens assemblies.
Solid experience performing sensitivity and Monte Carlo tolerance analysis.
Experience selecting appropriate optical materials, coatings, and manufacturing methods.
Proficiency with programming/scripting for automation (e.g., ZPL - Zemax Programming Language).
Familiarity with other software tools (e.g., Code V, OSLO) is a plus.
Collaborative , Capable to interact / interface with customers, vendors & Cross functional team
