Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Operations Manager – Collections
to oversee and manage day-to-day collection operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in collections, team management, and process optimization, with a proven ability to drive performance and compliance across all stages of the collections cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and monitor the collections team to achieve monthly and quarterly targets.
- Design and implement effective collection strategies and SOPs to improve recovery rates.
- Monitor delinquency trends and take proactive steps to minimize default rates.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards in all collection activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, customer service, and legal to streamline operations.
- Prepare and analyse MIS reports to track collection performance and portfolio health.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to ensure high productivity and morale.
- Handle escalations and complex recovery cases with professionalism and assertiveness.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 5 + years of relevant experience in collections, with at least 2 years in a managerial or team lead role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Should have prior experience in managing 50+ span count.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with collection software/CRM tools is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
