Job Description

  • JOB PURPOSE:
  • Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing safety standards, monitoring hazards, providing training, and coordinating safety measures, fostering a culture of safety within the engineering and fabrication industry
  • ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain Housekeeping: Monitor and maintain routine cleanliness on shop floors and throughout all facilities to prevent hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Safety Monitoring: Continuously monitor shop floors to identify and address unsafe acts and conditions. Take proactive measures to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
  • Coordinate Crane Operations: Collaborate with crane operators and riggers to ensure the safe lifting and placement of objects. Provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Clear Walkways: Take responsibility for ensuring clear and safe walkways within the premises to prevent trips, slips, and falls.
  • Blasting and Painting Audits: Conduct regular audits of blasting and painting activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols and assess the safety of manpower working in these areas.
  • Electrical Safety Checks: Regularly inspect electrical equipment and supplements within the organization to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Machine Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of welding, grinding, and gas-cutting machines to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Toolbox Talk Training: Provide training sessions on toolbox talks to shop floor workers to enhance their awareness of safety procedures and practices.
  • Fire Extinguisher Maintenance: Regularly inspect fire extinguishers and arrange for refills as needed to ensure readiness in case of emergencies.
  • PPE Kit Management: Liaise with the store/purchase department to manage the procurement and distribution of PPE kits according to the requirements of different departments, Regularly check the availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits for every employee and worker. Procure necessary items to meet government guidelines and ensure their distribution to personnel.
  • Safety Training: Organize and conduct safety training sessions for workers to enhance their knowledge and skills in safety procedures and practices.
  • Filling up proxy if someone is absent.
  • Report to the superior.
  • Any other work is given by the top management.
