In addition to the new graduate roles & responsibilities:Evaluating the medical history and the movement and functional abilities of new patientsDeveloping treatment plans based on medical diagnosesMobilizing and manipulating muscles and jointsProviding treatment using OT and rehabilitation equipmentGiving patients exercises designed to strengthen and increase their motor abilitiesKeeping updated patient records detailing all therapy provided (i.e. treatment and results)Adjusting plans and prescribing new treatment, where necessaryCommunity based work with travel and seeing various client types across all agesYou Will Also Be Responsible For
Therapeutic use of occupations, and activities, including therapeutic use of self (including one’s personality, insights, perceptions, and judgments, as part of the therapeutic process)Skill development in self-care, self-management, home management, and community/work/school reintegrationEducation and support of individuals, including family members, caregivers, and others, through collaborative and consultative partnerships and family-centred approachesCare coordination, case management, transition services including discharge planning, client advocacy and onward referral to relevant servicesModification of environments (e.g., home, work, school, community) and adaptation of processes, including the application of ergonomic principlesAssessment, customisation, and oversight of equipment provision including orthotic devices, and training in the use of prosthetic devicesDriver rehabilitation and community mobilityUse of natural contexts for assessment and intervention (i.e. home, school classrooms, work settings, community)Use of a range of specific therapeutic procedures to enhance performance such as wound care management, techniques to enhance sensory, perceptual, and cognitive processing, and manual therapy technique skillsTaking on more clients of a greater varietyLook at completing AT assessment and reports independentlyBe able to effectively supervise AHA students in clinicGive opportunity to new grads to observeBe a buddy for new grad OTsParticipate in MDT training and workshopsBegin to build skills in particular clinical areasHow We Will Support You
