NPD Engineer

Job Summary:

The NPD Engineer is responsible for executing all stages of new product development, ensuring timely delivery and first-time-right quality, based on customer specifications. This role involves cross-functional coordination, technical documentation, process validation, and continual improvement initiatives within the manufacturing and development environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Development: Develop new products in line with customer drawings and specifications, ensuring timely and quality-first delivery.
• Documentation & Planning: Prepare Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) sheets, Process Flow, FMEA, Control Plans, and SOPs.
• Data Analysis: Analyze historical TGR/TGW data and apply learnings to new product designs.
• Prototype & Tooling: Create and test proto samples and tooled-up samples, validate processes and tooling.
• Process Validation: Validate tools, fixtures, gauges, and document try-out results.
• Cycle Time Estimation: Calculate and document estimated cycle times for new processes.
• Handover to Production: Ensure smooth transition of documents and process understanding to the production team.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure safe working conditions and adherence to PPE usage.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive Kaizen initiatives and support 5S implementation on the shop floor.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes and tooling
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings
• Familiar with AQP, FMEA, and Lean Manufacturing
• Strong analytical and documentation skills
• Hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement

Educational Qualification:

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

Experience:

2–4 years in New Product Development or a similar role in a manufacturing setup.
