Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced NPD Engineer (Fasteners) who will be responsible for driving the end-to-end development of new fastener products, from concept design to production implementation. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of fastener design, materials, manufacturing processes, and testing standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead new product development projects for fasteners (bolts, nuts, screws, rivets, and customized fasteners).

• Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to understand technical requirements and provide innovative solutions.

• Prepare design concepts, 3D models, and detailed engineering drawings using CAD software.

• Select appropriate materials, heat treatment, and coatings based on application requirements.

• Conduct feasibility studies, DFMEA, and risk assessments for new designs.

• Develop and validate prototypes, coordinate with tool room and production teams.

• Support in process development, tooling design, and cost estimation for new products.

• Ensure compliance with ISO, IATF, and customer-specific standards.

• Work with the quality team for PPAP, APQP, and product validation documentation.

• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in fastener design and manufacturing processes.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of fastener design, standards (DIN, ISO, ASTM, JIS) and applications.

• Hands-on experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes – cold forging, machining, threading, heat treatment, surface finishing.

• Familiarity with DFMEA, APQP, PPAP, 8D, SPC, and GD&T.

• Ability to manage multiple NPD projects simultaneously with on-time delivery.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

• Experience in customer interaction and technical presentations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.

• 6–7 years of experience in NPD, design, or manufacturing of fasteners.

• Experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial fastener manufacturing will be preferred.
