Job Summary

Senior Mechanical Engineer – NPD

Responsibilities

1. Lead mechanical product design from concept to completion, including validation and testing.
2. Independently perform end to end mechanical product design and development including product conceptualization, detailing, design validation & testing of electro mechanical components / products / systems.
3. Create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and complete mechanical assemblies using

   SolidWorks

   or

   Fusion 360

   .
4. Collaborate with customers and vendors to perform

   DFMA

   , tolerance stack-up analysis, and prototype testing.
5. Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers for complete product integration.
6. Work with vendors and customers to finalize component specifications and validate manufacturability.
7. Conduct and review

   DFMEA

   , structural and thermal analysis reports.
8. Guide and mentor junior engineers in the design process.
9. Coordinate with manufacturing and QA teams to ensure production-readiness while adhering to quality, safety, and cost standards.
10. Operate efficiently in a fast-paced and iterative development environment.

Skills required

1. Proficiency in

   SolidWorks

   /

   Fusion 360

2. Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes

3. 5+ years’

   experience in

   new product development (NPD)

   ,

   design for manufacturability (DFM)

   and

   design for assembly (DFA)

4. Familiarity with

   FMEA

   , reliability engineering, and validation techniques
5. Critical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail
6. Proactive attitude with ability to work independently or lead teams

Desired candidate profile:

1. 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in mechanical design and development
2. Exposure to

   defence

   ,

   electromechanical systems

   , or

   startup/SME environments

   is a strong advantage
3. Strong communication, leadership, collaboration skills
4. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
