Job Title: National Imports Head
Department: Business Management
Business Unit: International
Location: New Delhi, India
Reports To: India Head – International Business
Direct Reportees: (Team of Import Specialists)
Role Objective
The National Imports Head will be a pivotal leader responsible for spearheading the
conceptualization, design, and implementation of highly effective and competitive
Import solutions for channel partners and customers across India. This strategic role
is crucial for driving significant revenue growth within the Imports vertical, ensuring
exceptional service quality, and maintaining cost efficiency. The incumbent will be
directly accountable for owning and delivering the Country Imports Revenue Budget
at target gross margin levels, while ensuring strategic alignment and seamless
execution across all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Responsibilities
  • Continuously identify, define, and refine the unique value proposition of the
Imports product, integrating it seamlessly into the solution design and overall
business strategy.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for new market entry, focused
trade lanes, and specialized import categories, ensuring effective ground-level
implementation in close conjunction with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to develop and deploy impactful
campaigns and collateral for the effective promotion of Import solutions.
  • Partner with the Learning & Development (L&D) team to build extensive
awareness and drive deep product understanding throughout the organization via
various tools and campaigns.
Operational Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular field visits alongside local business teams to engage directly with
existing customers, prospects, and channel partners, gathering market
intelligence and fostering strong relationships.
  • Proactively identify emerging market opportunities and design innovative
solutions to capture these opportunities, expanding the company's footprint in
the imports sector.
  • Continuously monitor and identify product and process-related gaps, ensuring
prompt and effective resolution to maintain operational excellence and customer
satisfaction.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate product strategy, trade-offs, and priorities to
all business and technology leaders, ensuring alignment and informed
decision-making.
People Management
  • Build and nurture strong, lasting relationships with external service providers and
key customers by actively participating in industry workshops, seminars, events,
and playing a proactive role in relevant industry organizations.
  • Recruit, build, and mentor a high-performing team of Import Specialists across
various zones, empowering them to drive local execution and achieve regional
targets.
Learning & Development
  • Document comprehensive product functionalities and lead internal training
initiatives to educate the organization on new features and product updates.
  • Provide robust training and support to regional business teams, equipping them
with necessary knowledge, leads, and collateral (such as PPTs, videos, and
training decks) to effectively promote the product in their respective markets.
Desired Profile
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in Business Solutions, with a
strong preference for candidates possessing a deep imports background from a
globally recognized international Express Logistics Company.
  • Proven track record in successful team leadership, demonstrating the ability to
build, motivate, and groom large teams.
  • Extensive experience in cross-functional collaboration, effectively working with
diverse teams including Marketing, L&D, and Technology.
  • Excellent analytical acumen with a strong ability to interpret data, identify trends,
and design data-driven solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate
complex strategies and trade-offs clearly to various audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of building rapport and
influencing outcomes with internal and external partners.
  • Experience with big data technologies, analytical platforms, and frameworks will
be considered a significant advantage.
