Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Strategy & Curation

• Define the overall programming strategy — what kind of music is showcased, when, and to

whom.

• Develop editorial calendars for playlists, campaigns, seasons, and creator trends.

• Ensure genre/mood/topic coverage aligns with business goals (e.g., more music for travel

vlogs, corporate AVs, etc.).

2. Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead a team of curators, playlist editors, or content managers.

• Work closely with Music Acquisition, A&R, Marketing, Product, and Data teams.

• Guide curation based on content gaps, data insights, or upcoming product features.

3. User & Market Insights

• Understand the needs of Hoopr’s core users — Brands, Businesses & YouTubers

• Leverage data and analytics to inform curation decisions (e.g., which tracks perform well,

which playlists convert best).

• Keep up with content trends on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, etc., and adjust programming

accordingly.

4. Campaigns & Discovery

• Drive thematic campaigns like “Summer Essentials,” “Creator Favorites,” or “Top Songs for

Gaming.”

• Optimize playlist placements and homepage content to increase track discovery, downloads,

and licensing.


• Coordinate with marketing for artist spotlights, new release pushes, or seasonal rollouts.

5. Content Performance Monitoring

• Track how playlists and curated collections perform in terms of engagement, usage, and

downloads.

• Test and iterate based on what’s working or not — with a product mindset.


Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in music programming, editorial curation, or content strategy at a

music-tech company, DSP, media platform, or similar.

• Strong understanding of music genres, moods, and social media use cases

• Proven ability to lead curation initiatives across multiple genres and formats, with a keen

sense of music discovery and audience needs.

• Comfortable working with data to make content decisions; experience interpreting

dashboards or using tools like Mixpanel is a plus.

• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product, marketing, A&R, and content

operations teams.

• Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to manage

timelines, campaigns, and curation calendars.

• A strong global music sensibility with the ability to spot trends across platforms like TikTok,

Instagram, and YouTube.
