Job Summary

The Mining Engineer – Production Line Maintenance is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted, safe, and efficient operation of the mineral processing production line, including crushing, screening, conveying, beneficiation, and material handling systems. The role focuses on preventive and breakdown maintenance coordination, equipment reliability, and process continuity to achieve production and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities: Production Line Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

• Ensure continuous availability of the mineral processing production line, including crushers, screens, feeders, conveyors, pumps, mills, cyclones, and auxiliary systems.
• Monitor equipment performance, identify recurring failures, and coordinate corrective and preventive maintenance actions.
• Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules aligned with plant production plans.

Operations & Process Support

• Support daily plant operations to achieve targeted throughput, recovery, and product quality.
• Identify operational and maintenance-related bottlenecks in the processing line and propose engineering solutions.
• Assist in commissioning, ramp-up, and stabilization of new circuits, equipment, or plant modifications.
• Ensure smooth material flow across crushing, grinding, classification, and beneficiation sections.

Safety, Environment & Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance and operational activities comply with statutory requirements, plant safety rules, and company HSE policies.
• Conduct risk assessments, job safety analyses, and toolbox talks for maintenance activities.
• Enforce SOPs, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
• Support environmental compliance related to dust control, effluent handling, and waste management.

Planning, Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain records of equipment breakdowns, maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and downtime analysis.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on equipment availability, utilization, and maintenance KPIs.
• Assist in maintenance budgeting, spare planning, and inventory optimization.

Manpower & Contractor Coordination

• Supervise plant maintenance crews and contractors engaged in production line maintenance.
• Ensure work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to maintenance schedules.
• Provide technical guidance and on-site troubleshooting support to operators and technicians.

Continuous Improvement & Optimization

• Analyze maintenance and production data to improve equipment reliability and life cycle performance.
• Participate in TPM, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Recommend design, layout, or operational modifications to enhance plant availability and productivity.

Qualifications Education

• Bachelor’s or diploma Degree in Mining Engineering (not mandatory)
• (Exposure to Mineral Processing preferred)

Experience

• 0-3 years of experience in a mineral processing plant or industrial processing facility.
• Hands-on exposure to crushing, screening, conveying, and beneficiation circuits preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of mineral processing plant equipment and production line maintenance.
• Ability to coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
• Sound knowledge of plant safety standards and statutory compliance.
• Analytical approach to downtime reduction and reliability improvement.
• Good communication, reporting, and supervisory skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: Up to ₹35,000.00 per month
