Job Title: Merchandiser – Product Development (Textiles)

Experience Required: 1-2 years in textile merchandising with hands-on product development experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Merchandiser with strong expertise in product development for our textile division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating between design, production, and sales teams to develop textile products that meet market trends, customer expectations, and production feasibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with design and product development teams to create innovative textile products aligned with market trends.
• Develop product samples based on customer requirements and seasonal forecasts.
• Source raw materials, trims, and fabrics, and maintain vendor relationships.
• Coordinate with suppliers, mills, and factories to ensure timely sample development and production execution.
• Monitor and track product development timelines and ensure timely delivery of samples.
• Assist in costings and pricing of new products to meet margin requirements.
• Maintain product specification sheets and ensure all technical data is up to date.
• Work closely with quality and production teams to ensure quality standards are met.
• Liaise with buyers and customers for product approvals, sample submissions, and order confirmations.
• Stay up to date with textile trends, market developments, and competitor activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Textile Technology, Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Management, or related field.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in merchandising and product development within the textile industry.
• Strong knowledge of fabric types, textile processes, and garment construction.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with PLM/ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and under tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with international buyers or export clients.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and innovation in textile product development.
• Familiarity with global textile markets and sourcing hubs.
