Quality Control Engineer – MEP (Factory Construction) Location: [Chennai] Job Type: [Full-Time] Experience Required: 5–10 Years Education: B.E / B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Industry: Construction / MEP / Industrial Projects Job Summary: We are looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Engineer to oversee and ensure the quality of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems in factory construction projects. The ideal candidate must have in-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience in HT & LT Electrical systems, HVAC Chillers, Fire Fighting systems, Plumbing & Sanitary works, Smoke Detection systems, and related services. Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement quality control procedures and inspection plans for MEP works. Monitor and ensure compliance with technical specifications, codes, and project requirements. Conduct inspections and testing of electrical (HT & LT), mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection installations. Ensure proper installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, including chillers, ducting, and controls. Supervise and verify fire fighting system installations as per NFPA/local standards. Inspect plumbing and sanitary installations ensuring compliance with design and safety standards. Validate smoke detection, fire alarm, and control systems installation. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve quality issues on-site. Maintain proper documentation of inspections, test reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs). Liaise with consultants and third-party inspectors for approvals and audits. Ensure safety, efficiency, and quality standards are strictly followed during all phases of construction. Prepare and submit QC-related reports to management regularly. Qualifications & Skills:B.E / B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (mandatory) 5–10 years of hands-on experience in MEP Quality Control for industrial/factory construction projects. Strong knowledge of: Electrical HT & LT systems HVAC systems (Chillers, AHUs, ducting, etc.) Fire Fighting systems (pumps, sprinklers, piping) Plumbing & Sanitary works Smoke Detection and Fire Alarm systems Familiar with international codes and standards (NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, IPC, etc.) Strong report writing, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to interpret MEP drawings and technical specifications. Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and relevant QC tools. Certification in QA/QC, ISO, or other industry-specific standards is an added advantage.
