MEP Project Manager

Job Purpose:

The MEP Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) aspects of a civil construction site. The role ensures that all MEP systems are integrated into the project design and executed in compliance with relevant codes, project specifications, safety regulations, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:1. Project Planning & Coordination:

• Review and understand MEP drawings, technical specifications, and project documents.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and architectural teams to ensure proper MEP integration.
• Develop and monitor MEP work schedules aligned with the master project schedule.
• Liaise with MEP subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants for timely delivery and execution.

2. Site Supervision:

• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with design.
• Identify and resolve technical issues on-site in collaboration with the construction team.

3. Technical Support & Documentation:

• Ensure shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals are prepared and approved.
• Maintain updated as-built drawings, inspection logs, and daily progress reports.
• Participate in project meetings, technical discussions, and client/consultant reviews.

4. Quality, Safety & Compliance:

• Enforce safety procedures and regulations on MEP works.
• Ensure that MEP installations are executed as per project QA/QC plans and local codes.
• Coordinate inspections with authorities and consultants for MEP clearances and approvals.

5. Budget & Procurement Assistance:

• Support procurement in evaluating MEP material requirements and vendor selections.
• Monitor material delivery, usage, and cost control in line with project budgets.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in MEP works within civil construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire fighting systems, and relevant codes (e.g., DEWA, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.).
• Proficient in reading technical drawings and using AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, and related software.
• Strong coordination, communication, and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with safety and quality standards in construction.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on high-rise, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• PMP or MEP-specific certifications (e.g., LEED AP, CEM, etc.) are a plus.
